Description
We are not just another company, offering social compliance certification in Bangladesh. Our core competency lies in verification, revision and supervision of the social, environmental, ethical, engineering and legal compliance programmes. For each of the service area an expert in the respective field leads a team of dedicated support staff.

Social

The basic principles of social compliance have been derived from the principles of international human rights norms as delineated in International Labour Organization Conventions, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is not enough to claim to be socially compliant supplier we need to check and verify their claims and certifications, to be sure.

Environmental

Textile industry is known to be one of the most environmental polluting industries in modern time. In the developing countries like Bangladesh even more so, particularly due to week enforcement of the existing laws and lack of knowledge and interests of the people in general. It is not sufficient to tell us that they have an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). We cross-check production, capacity of the ETP and most importantly how long and whether it is in operation at all!

Ethical

Sometimes business activities may be well compliant with the laws but may not be socially or ethically correct. For example, it may be very difficult for the victims of different industrial accidents to prove guilt of the global brands for which they ultimately produced goods. But it does not necessarily mean that those global giants have no humanitarian or ethical responsibility for relief and rehabilitation of the victims.

Engineering

The current debate for ensuring building, fire and electrical safety of the garment factories in Bangladesh began after the Rana Plaza tragedy claiming lives of over 1,133 innocent people. The progress in the assessment of garment factories has been too slow, actually yet to begin! One of the reasons for the delay seems to be reluctances of some of the stakeholders due to commercial and political reasons. Those who are genuinely interested to face the building, fire and electrical safety challenges and address these issues should and can begin to act now!

Legal

It is the obligation of every company, small or large, to comply with the laws of the country they operate in. In order to do so, in spite of genuine interests it is not always possible to find the competent and right partners to face the challenges and solve those - together. We carefully listen to every client, establish strong relationships, built on mutual trust and respect and believe in building strong services for long-term relationships.
